MOU SIGNING IN CONJUNCTION WITH CNY OPEN HOUSE
Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), the professional body for Malaysian architects, launched KLAF2020 at PAM Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The launch was officiated by the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Zuraida Kamaruddin. Open to the public, the annual festival is the premier event in Malaysia’s architectural calendar and staged various programs until August 2020.
PAM Donates 1,000 PPE Sets to Serdang Hospital
NOBLE EFFORTS FOR FRONTLINERS
PAM handed over 1,000 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical frontliners in Hospital Serdang during the COVID-19 outbreak. PAM’s Architect members and staff donated the funds for the materials in this joint collaboration with the Malaysia Bumiputra Designer Association (MBDA), whose volunteers designed and sewed the PPE. Other initiatives during MCO/CMCO period included rallying architect and engineer volunteers to assist the Government in identifying buildings to be converted into temporary quarantine centres.
World Architecture Day Celebrations
TOWARD A BETTER URBAN FUTURE
The theme for 2020's celebration is ‘Toward a Better Urban Future’. World Architecture Day is celebrated concurrent with UN World Habitat Day which carries a similar theme ‘Housing for All: A better Urban Future’.
