December, a month filled with Christmas jingles and year-end sales, would naturally feel lighter (at least for me). The traffic is less congested, and many people would take the opportunity to clear their annual leave to go on a vacation.
As for Circuit Communications, we took this opportunity to step away from our laptops for three days and embarked on a holiday retreat to Hatyai, Thailand, as a reward for our dedication and hard work over the past year.
When the plan to visit Hatyai was confirmed, I was tasked with creating the itinerary for the trip. In my impression, Hatyai, has always been a shopper’s paradise with countless items available at a lower price. While researching for places to visit, I tried to avoid listing out too many shopping spots. However, to my surprise, apart from the markets and malls, most other tourist attractions were too far from our hotel. Since our primary mode of transport was tuk-tuk or by foot, I shifted my focus to destinations that were more easily accessible.
With the help of Jian Mei, who had a wish list of food to eat, we managed to put together a plan for the 4D3N trip. With a lot of excitement, we started our trip to Hatyai with a dessert right after checking in to our hotel.
After indulging in a satisfying bingsu, my role as the navigator cum tour guide officially begun. Although it was totally unexpected when everyone turned to me for directions, I had my most reliable supporter - Google Maps. Thanks to my family’s nature of curiosity and our knack for exploring during trips, navigating our way around felt natural to me.
Overall, we had a great time indulging in a variety of foods, window shopping, and diving headfirst into shopping sprees. Thanks to our boss, we were able to enjoy every moment carefree, savouring delicious food and creating lasting memories. Hatyai wasn’t just a getaway from our screens; it was also a bonding experience filled with laughter. It was a well-deserved break after all the events and the effort we put into meeting deadlines.
